If you have a old 240 or 110 volt AC stairlift you will not be able to use your stairlift at all.

Tips

if you have AC or mains powered stairlift it is advisable to carry your mobile phone with you or other means of contacting someone if you get stuck.

If you have DC or battery powered stairlift you will be able to use your stairlift in a power cut a few times depending on which model it is.

if it is a straight stannah, minivator, acorn, brooks, thyssen meditek, lift able Dc you should be able to use your stairlift  three or four times dont exceed this as you dont want to flatten batteries for when power comes back on

If you have a curved stannah, minivator, thyssen, platinum you should be able to use your stairlift two or three times again dont exceed this as you dont want to flatten batteries for when power comes back on.

if you have a Acorn 180 you may only get one use and again dont exceed this as you dont want to flatten batteries for when power comes back on especially with this model as it may need reprogramming if batteries goes flat.

Once your power comes back on please let your stairlift power or recharge the batteries as long as possible for full recovery.

Please note all the details above are meant as a guide and different situation may vary the outcome.

PLEASE IF UNSURE CONSULT YOUR STAIRLIFT INSTALLER.
